While Verizon has been investing in venture deals for a long time, 2014 was a landmark year for us. Last year we invested in more deals than ever before, with participation in eight investment rounds that were announced. Six companies exited the portfolio, including BlueKai which found a new home at Oracle and Medio which has become part of Nokia. A few additional investment highlights include leading Series C investments in Java-centric enterprise platform-as-a-service innovator CloudBees, location-sharing startup Glympse and mobile payments provider Flint. Verizon Ventures also participated in Series B rounds for radio-frequency hardware startup Newlans and mobile cloud backend-as-a-service company Kinvey. Here is a look at our investment activity in 2014.
