Fueling Innovation: A Look at Where Powerful Answers are Coming From

It should come as no surprise that Verizon is committed to fueling innovation across many levels of the organization. Verizon Ventures is just one of the many ways we stay close to disruptive technologies. Another initiative that we are very proud of at Verizon is the Powerful Answers Award. We believe good ideas combined with powerful technology can help solve some of the world's biggest problems, so for the third consecutive year we are hosting a multi-million dollar challenge for entrepreneurs, companies and innovators worldwide to provide innovative solutions in Transportation, Emergency Response and Internet of Things.

Now that we are midway through the submission process, we wanted to get a feel for who was submitting ideas, in what categories and from where. To date, we’ve received submissions from 28 countries around the globe including the US, India, Nigeria, Canada and Italy. In the United States, the Emergency Response category is leading the pack with the most submissions (45%) followed by IoT (33%) and Transportation at (22%). In terms of subcategories, Long Term Relief has the least number of submissions in the US and in the world, which means that new submissions in this field have an even better chance of winning! Check out the infographic below for more fun facts on submissions to date.

So for all the entrepreneurs and innovators out there, head to powerfulanswersaward.com and submit your idea by June 18th for a chance to win up to $1 million in cash prizes. How will your idea help change the world?
