Hearst Ventures has invested $2 million in ShotTracker parent company, DDSports Inc., as the startup continues pursuing media deals. DDSports previously secured $11 million from Evertz Microsystems and Verizon Ventures as part of the now-completed funding round.

Design and marketing consultancy R/GA is expanding its Venture Studios program with the launch of a new Coalition Venture Studio focused specifically on supporting Black-led and Black-owned startups. The initiative is led by R/GA Entrepreneur in Residence Davyeon Ross, a Black entrepreneur who founded sports analytics company ShotTracker.

BBG Ventures has closed its third fund, for $50 million. Verizon Ventures was the first limited partner to back them in the firm’s new form, joined by others ranging from State of Michigan Retirement Systems and George Kaiser Family Foundation to Nordstrom and individuals including ClassPass cofounder Payal Kadakia and Poshmark cofounder Tracy Sun.

Optibus has picked up $107 million, a Series C that it will be using to continue expanding the kinds of services that it provides to customers. The funding is being co-led by two investors, Bessemer Venture Partners and Insight Partners, with previous investors Verizon Ventures, Pitango, New Era Capital Partners, Dynamic Loop and Blue Red Partners also participating.
